Dr. Dong Zhang, the founder of TRA in 2005, has been a pioneer in the field of textiles and nonwovens since 1983. He serves as the editor-in-chief of the Textile Research Journal and the Journal of Industrial Textiles. A global leading expert in technical textiles and nonwovens, Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Material Engineering and Science from the University of Tennessee in 1995 and has consistently been at the forefront of advanced research in this domain. He serves on the advisory board for the World Filtration Institute (WFI).
Dr. Christine Sun, the principal of TRA, is a globally recognized expert in advanced nonwovens and filtration technologies. She serves as an editor for the Journal of Industrial Textiles. With extensive experience spanning industrial and academic settings, she brings both comprehensive knowledge and hands-on expertise in advanced nonwovens, nanofibers, and filtration systems. Dr. Sun has authored over 100 technical publications and holds multiple patents in her areas of expertise. She received the Senior Scientist Award from AFS in 2012 and the Best Paper Award from INDA in 2008. She has served as the Chair of ASHRAE MTG-EEC, AFS Chair, and ISO/ASHRAE/SAE standard committees. Dr. Sun was Technology Director at Donaldson (2011–2013) and R&D Manager at Freudenberg Filtration Technologies (2004–2011). She currently serves as the President of the World Filtration Institute.
